Transito

Cover

Forced from their homes by violent religious persecution, the Ahmadiyya community in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, has been confined to a “temporary” state shelter known as Asrama Transito for over a decade.

Initiated in 2011, this ongoing long-form documentary project captures the profound limbo experienced by these internally displaced citizens.

Transito explores the human cost of religious intolerance and the systemic failure to protect minority rights, while highlighting the quiet resilience of a community fighting to preserve its faith and dignity in their own country.
